Congratulations to Kristen Henderson in y9 who has won the
2015 Young Textile technologist of the year.
The brief this year was to design and make an accessory for under £10 suitable for a teenager based on the theme "Light up Life"
Kristen won the local round which was expertly judged by Keswick Rotary Club and June Houghton from Needles and Pins in Keswick. She then went onto the district round which was held at the Lakes School in Windermere, to compete along with five other schools. I am delighted to announce that the judges were very impressed with her choice of fabric, construction techniques, detailing of the features and the integration of the LED lights. Kristen was awarded first place for 2015 :)
